Designing a Circular Economy Model for Reducing Agricultural Waste and Enhancing Environmental Sustainability in Large-Scale Agribusinesses

Large-scale agribusiness operations generate considerable agricultural Waste, resulting in negative environmental impacts, wasteful resource use, and high carbon emissions. Traditional linear waste management systems fail to convert agricultural Waste into valuable economic or environmentally useful products. This research aims to develop a circular economy model to reduce agricultural Waste and improve the environmental sustainability of large-scale agribusiness operations. Research design combines quantitative environmental assessment and qualitative management analysis through empirical data gathered from agribusiness operations, sustainability reports, and waste management practices. The proposed model focuses on waste separation, composting, biomass energy recovery, recycling, and resource reutilization techniques. The study found that, compared with the conventional approach, the developed circular economy model decreases the total amount of agricultural Waste by 38.6% and the organic waste recycling efficiency by 72.4%. Waste-to-biomass conversion improves carbon emissions efficiency by 29.8% and increases energy recovery efficiency from 32.5% to 66.6%. Moreover, sustainable resource management increases soil indicators by 21.7% and reduces waste disposal costs by 26.3%. Based on the results, applying a circular economy approach to the management of agribusiness operations significantly improves the environmental sustainability of large-scale agribusiness, thereby increasing resource efficiency and long-term operational stability. The study provides an efficient managerial guide to sustainable agribusiness and recommends adopting a green, regenerative agribusiness system.
